A new trend is emerging in celebrity fitness routines: the integration of weight training into every workout modality, even traditionally cardio-focused activities. Fitness entrepreneur Anthony Geisler recently shed light on this shift, particularly in relation to popular weight loss approaches.

“It is lean muscle-mass weight training. So, I think we’ll see that in boxing, and I think we’ll see that across modalities,” Geisler explains. This emphasis on strength training comes at a crucial time, as celebrities navigate new approaches to weight management, including medication-assisted programs.

The focus on muscle preservation is particularly relevant given Geisler’s observation about GLP-1 medications: “GLP-1s cause patients to burn 50 percent muscle mass. That is a huge issue that needs to be addressed with weight training.”

This insight has led to a reimagining of traditional workout programs, with strength training elements being incorporated into everything from boxing classes to traditional cardio sessions. The goal? Helping celebrities maintain lean muscle mass while achieving their weight management goals.
